About LatiNola Votes!
LatiNola Votes! is a non-partisan voter registration campaign launched in 2008 by Puentes New Orleans, Inc. (PNOInc) in partnership with the Hispanic Apostolate Community Services of Catholic Charities and the Louisiana Association of Non Profit Organizations LA Votes! initiative, as well as with the support of the State of Louisiana Secretary of State Office.
The purpose of the campaign is to increase the number of Hispanic citizens enrolled in the democratic process, create a spirit of active engagement among Hispanic citizens in the democratic process, create an atmosphere that encourages non-citizens to apply for citizenship, and create public awareness that the New Orleans area (and by extension the State of Louisiana) has participating Hispanic voters.
Our goal is to create an energized group of Hispanic citizens who are civically engaged. Hispanic families have a long-term self-interest in the development of our region. As proud New Orleanians and Louisianans, we must exercise our right to participate.
Sin participación, no hay representación, so join us today and register to vote. Let us help you register to vote at one of our many registration events. Bring your family. Bring your friends. If you know someone who is a citizen who is not registered to vote, encourage that person to do so.
Nuestra voz gana poder con cada votante. Because your vote is important to law makers, our community grows stronger with every voter registered.
Visit the LatiNola Scene page to find out where we will be next.
Disclaimer about voting: In order to register to vote you must be 18 years of age and be a United States citizen. If you are a naturalized citizen, you must provide proof of citizenship. The two acceptable documents for proof of citizenship are the U.S. Passport and the Certification of Naturalization. If you register to vote at one of our registration events and you are a naturalized citizen, you must provide a copy of your U.S. Passport. If you do not have a copy of your U.S. Passport, then you must bring your Certification of Naturalization to the Registrar’s office in your parish. Contact the Puentes office if you have additional questions.
