Enfoque Honduras- Honduran business leaders present seminar
Please join us on Thursday, September 16th, when the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana, together with the World Trade Center of New Orleans and the Consulate of Honduras, will bring key business
and industry leaders from Honduras to YOU at an afternoon seminar followed by a reception. This will be the first of several country focus events.
The dignitaries coming include the very business leaders you need to meet:
· Ms. Aline Flores, President of the Cámara de Comercio e Industria de Tegucigalpa (the largest chamber of commerce in Honduras)
· Lic. Alexander Hedman Alas, Board of Directors of COHEP – Consejo Hondureño de Empresas Privadas (Honduran Council of Private Sector Businesses)
· Lic. Jose Martin Chicas, Vice President of ANDI – Asociación Nacional de Industrias (National Association of Industries).
· Mariebelle Lieberman, President of Mariebelle Chocolates – acclaimed chocolatier from Honduras with luxury stores in Manhattan
The delegation will present a valuable overview of Honduras today – its new government with its quickly growing economy, investment opportunities and regulations, the banking industry and its regulations,
the manufacturing industry, the free trade zones, the tourism industry, and more. The panel will discuss how Honduras has become more business friendly under the new government and is more than ever
“OPEN FOR BUSINESS!”
This program is conceived in follow-up to the recent visits of the Hon. Porfirio Lobo Sosa, President of Honduras, to New Orleans on official business. He came in April of this year with an official government
delegation to meet with Mayor Landrieu and other government and business leaders, and announced a series of interchanges to take place between Honduras and Louisiana across several different industry sectors.
He returned to New Orleans on September 7th with a delegation to sign accords with LSU, Southern, UNO, Loyola, and Tulane Universities for educational exchanges, and with Ochsner, LSU & Tulane Medical Schools
for health care exchanges.
On November 4th and 5th, the Honduran Government will host an international conference in Tegucigalpa to showcase Honduras and how it is “Open for Business”. Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to attend.
Then, in the spring of 2011, there will be a high level trade mission from New Orleans to Honduras.
