Puentes New Orleans, Inc, in partnership with Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Greater New Orleans, has launched a new series of home ownership training classes that began March 25th, 2008.  All classes will be offered in Spanish, making this class only the second in the region to offer full-time Spanish language classes year-round.  The course is twelve hours in length and cost $35, which cover a credit report and expenses for the course.  Classes are offered over a period of six weeks, from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesdays.  Because the Spanish speaking community is dispersed throughout Orleans and Jefferson parishes, each class will be offered in a different location.  Currently, classes are being held at the Esparanza Charter School on Carrollton Avenue.  The next class, which begins May 20, 2008, will be held at a site to be determined.  Space is limited and potential students are advised to call early, if possible.  For more information, contact the Puentes office at 504.821.7228 or send an e-mail to info@puentesno.org.
