In commemoration of the third anniversary of Hurricane Katrina the New Orleans Institute for Resilience and Innovation will be hosting a symposium to highlight the transformational work that has become important in post-Katrina New Orleans.  This collaborative effort will include a series of lectures by representatives from a group of wide ranging non-profit organizations that have been active in recovery.  The director of Puentes is one of the scheduled speakers and he will share the story of Puentes and its efforts to engage and organize the Latino community in the New Orleans area.

The NOLA Speaks Symposium will take place on August 30, 2008 on the campus of UNO in Kirschmann Hall from 9am-4pm.  To read more please visit www.theneworleansinstitute.org.
